This interesting video courtesy of my vinyl friend Manish Naik:
Get to know Furnace MFG with descriptions of the products and services we offer and a tour of the facilities. Furnace MFG is known for pressing the finest quality and best sounding vinyl records in the world. In this video we show you our state of the art pressing and assembly facilities and explain why people are saying Furnace MFG is vinyl pressing, perfected.
Ever wonder how vinyl records are pressed? In this video you will see the extruder make a puck of vinyl, sandwich it between two labels, and then press the vinyl puck between two plates that contain the grooves that make a vinyl record. Once the press cycle is finished you will see a knife cut off the excess vinyl. The record is then picked and placed into a sleeve where a heavy, metal plate is put on top to ensure the records remain flat while it cools. Records pressed at Furnace MFG / Pallas in Germany are among the finest in the world. This is a process that has been refined and perfected since the plant opened for business in 1947. Hear the difference today: www.furnacemfg.com/vinyl
Furnace is also one of the largest vinyl manufacturing companies in the country. With over 25 years of vinyl experience, Furnace MFG is THE pressing plant for high-quality vinyl as well as vinyl mastering; lacquer; and DMM cutting, galvanics and plating. Though we are well-known for our boutique, audiophile-grade vinyl manufacturing, we also have the most capacity in the world with over 45 active vinyl presses. As the vinyl format thrives, Furnace MFG will lead the charge to keep the physical music format alive and kicking well into the 21st century.

CRYSTAL VIPER REVEALS "LEGENDS" ARTWORK
Polish female fronted Traditional Heavy Metal act CRYSTAL VIPER, revealed front cover artwork of their forthcoming studio album "Legends", which will hit the streets on October 22, 2010 (through AFM Records in Europe and States / Spiritual Beast Records in Japan), was painted by the legendary French artist Chris Moyen, who is known from cooperation with such legendary acts as SLAYER, TRIVIUM, BEHERIT or BLASPHEMY.
The album was recorded and mixed at the MP Studio in Poland, with engineer Mariusz Pietka and producer Bart Gabriel. "Legends" will feature several very special guests: Rhino (the famous ex-MANOWAR drummer), Stefan Kaufmann (U.D.O., ex-ACCEPT), Mat Sinner (PRIMAL FEAR, SINNER) and Sven D'Anna & Dano Boland (WIZARD). As the title suggest, all the lyrics will be based on the original Polish legends from the middle-ages.

HOLY GRAIL: Debut Album Artwork Unveiled
"Crisis In Utopia", the debut album from the Los Angeles metal quintet HOLY GRAIL, will be released on October 26 via Prosthetic Records. The CD was produced by Danny Lohner (NINE INCH NAILS, A PERFECT CIRCLE) and features cover artwork by Andrei Bouzikov (SKELETONWITCH, MUNICIPAL WASTE).
Assembled a year ago, HOLY GRAIL is already at the forefront of the new wave of metal that pays homage to such legends as IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and DIO. The band's debut EP, "Improper Burial" (released in late 2009), featuring just two original tracks and two covers, earned HOLY GRAIL significant press accolades including a two-page feature in hometown paper LA Weekly, a spot on Decibel's "25 Most Anticipated Releases Of 2010" list and inclusion on Metal Hammer's "Guide To The Best In The Upcoming New Wave Of Trad Metal."
HOLY GRAIL is currently on the road in North America as the support act for EXODUS.

Rolling Stone Publishing Special Issue With Top 100 Beatles Songs
Rolling Stone Magazine is happy to be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of the Beatles final album, 'Let It Be,' with a special issue highlighting the groups one hundred best songs. Along with the list, there are additional articles with John Lennon and Paul McCartney talking about their favorite tracks, the group's best cover songs and the tracks with George Harrison's best guitar work. I'd be interested in their solo work as well, each member had several hits and it is hard to imagine that some of these aren't included.
Here is Rolling Stone's top ten:
1. A Day in the Life
2. I Want to Hold Your Hand
3. Strawberry Fields Forever
4. Yesterday
5 .In My Life
6 .Something
7. Hey Jude
8. Let It Be
9. Come Together
10. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
