Re-issue of 60's album from Mixtures, MULTI-racial Cali rockers

Minky Records is proud to announce the re-release of The Mixtures'
"Stompin' At The Rainbow," a live album recorded by a young Wally Heider
of this extraordinary, multi-racial (Black, Asian, Native American, Latino
and Causcasian!) rock 'n' roll band and their only long playing release.

It all happened at the Rainbow Gardens in 1960s Pomona as The Mixtures,
mighty kings of the West Coast's Eastside dance hall scene, rocked and
ruled the house.

As the movement for integration that began in Mississippi and Alabama was
taking shape nationwide, it was not only the South that was segregated. In
the Southern California of the '50s, non-white races were more allied,
though it was rare you'd find them mixed in a band. As the dawn broke on
rock 'n' roll, this six-man party band-at different times comprised of
African-Americans, Latinos, Asians, Caucasians, and a Native American-made
history.

Cee Lo Green Responds to Huge Popular Demand; "THE LADY KILLER" to Be Released November 9th

First Solo Album in Over Six Years From Grammy-Winning Hip-Hop/Soul Visionary Features the International Sensation, "F**k You"; First Live Show Set for October 7th in New York City

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 22, 2010) - Responding to massive popular demand, Elektra recording artist Cee Lo Green has moved up the release of his hugely anticipated new solo album. "THE LADY KILLER" -- which includes the blockbuster first single, "F**k You" -- will now arrive in stores and at all online retailers on November 9th.

Green will herald the album's release with an eagerly awaited New York City solo concert, slated for October 7th at the world famous Irving Plaza. Presale tickets will be available to members of Cee Lo's online community beginning today, Wednesday, September 22nd at 10 AM ET; Live Nation will then offer presale tickets on Thursday, September 23rd at 10 AM ET. All remaining tickets will then be released to the general public on Friday, September 24th at 12 PM ET.

"THE LADY KILLER" is currently available for pre-order at Cee Lo's official website, http://www.ceelogreen.com/  The album is offered in a variety of unique packages, with such extras as an exclusive screen-printed poster, a t-shirt, and a 7" vinyl single of the album's soulful "Georgia." All pre-orders receive an immediate MP3 download of the breakout hit, "F**k You."

Released last month via Green's official YouTube channel, "F**k You" caused an instant viral commotion, drawing more than 2 million plays in its first five days online. The clip quickly became the #1 Most Viewed Video in the United Kingdom, beating out the latest uploads from the hugely popular singing competition series, The X Factor. What's more, "F**k You" was featured on close to 4,500 music blogs around the world, hitting #1 on The Hype Machine MP3 blog aggregator as well as topping an array of global video charts. The song's official companion video can now be viewed online at Cee Lo's official Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ceelogreen  while the original "F**k You" clip can be seen and heard at www.youtube.com/user/CeeLoGreen

"F**k You" -- co-written and produced by the multi-platinum certified production trio, The Smeezingtons, featuring Green's Elektra labelmate, Bruno Mars -- is now bulleting its way up the top 40 on Billboard's "Hot 100" singles chart. The track is officially on sale at all digital retailers, as well as via www.ceelogreen.com, where it can be purchased individually or in a bundle with an exclusive Cee Lo Green "F**k You" t-shirt. An amended version of the single and video -- entitled "Forget You" -- is set to arrive later in the fall.

Along with its phenomenal popular success, "F**k You" has also proven a favorite with Green's fellow artists and celebrities, with a flurry of tweets directing users to the video coming from such luminaries as 50 Cent, Ashton Kutcher, Perez Hilton, Simon Pegg, RealNetworks founder Rob Glaser, and music industry icon Bob Lefsetz. In addition, 50 Cent was inspired to put together his own unauthorized remix of the track, which has also drawn a huge online audience.

As if all that weren't enough, "F**k You" has received ecstatic critical acclamation from coast to coast. "One of the greatest songs in the history of humankind," declared The Dallas Observer's "DC9 At Night" music blog, with Idolator.com hailing it as "a toe-tapping old school soul-filled track that is hands down the happiest 'FU' we've ever heard." "As timeless, efficient, and repeatable as any number of golden oldies," declared Pitchfork, adding, "Like 'Hey Ya' before it, 'F**k You' gets by on a generation-spanning simplicity, and, coming from Cee Lo's mouth, the title phrase actually isn't illicit at all. It's beyond happy. Cathartic. It could be the new 'Sesame Street' theme."

Cee Lo -- whose "What Part Of Forever" is featured on Chop Shop/Atlantic's blockbuster "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" -- heralded "THE LADY KILLER" earlier this summer with "Georgia," an emotional tribute to his beloved home state. Both "Georgia" and an additional album track, entitled "ChamPain," are available now as free downloads to all fans joining the Cee Lo Green Mailing List at his official web home, www.ceelogreen.com.

Furthermore, explicit and amended videos for the album's stunning cover version of Band of Horses' "No One's Gonna Love You" -- produced by Paul Epworth (Florence & The Machine, Bloc Party, The Big Pink) -- can currently be seen and heard at www.youtube.com/ceelogreen .

Known far and wide as one half of Grammy Award-winning superstar duo Gnarls Barkley, Cee Lo Green is a true 21st Century renaissance man. Having first made his bones as a member of southern hip-hop pioneers, Goodie Mob, Green soon struck out on his own with 2002's "CEE LO GREEN AND HIS PERFECT IMPERFECTIONS," highlighted by the Timbaland-produced hit single, "Closet Freak." The acclaimed "CEE LO GREEN...IS THE SOUL MACHINE" followed two years later, again featuring a Timbaland-produced hit single in "I'll Be Around."

As if that weren't enough, Cee Lo also became one of R&B/hip-hop's most in-demand collaborators, penning and producing tracks for such like-minded artists as Jennifer Hudson, Brandy, Amerie, and Solange. His greatest success as songwriter/producer came in 2005 with the RIAA platinum-certified, international #1, "Don't Cha," by Pussycat Dolls featuring Busta Rhymes.

In 2006, Green teamed with producer/DJ Danger Mouse as Gnarls Barkley and quickly made history with the international #1 smash, "Crazy" (later named as "Song of the Decade" by Rolling Stone). The duo's kaleidoscopic debut, "ST. ELSEWHERE," proved a critical triumph and chart-topping blockbuster, ultimately earning RIAA platinum certification in the US for sales exceeding 1 million. At 2007's 49th Annual Grammy Awards, Gnarls received seven nominations and snagged two of the event's most coveted trophies -- "Best Alternative Music Album" and "Best Urban Alternative Performance." "THE ODD COUPLE" followed in 2008, earning further praise along with an additional trio of Grammy nods.

"THE LADY KILLER" -- Green's first solo work in more than six years -- sees the endlessly inventive singer/writer/rapper/producer continuing to push hip-hop and soul's creative envelope, this time working with a star-studded cast of producers that includes Salaam Remi (Nas, Amy Winehouse), Jack Splash (Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot, Jamie Foxx), and Fraser T. Smith (Nelly Furtado, James Morrison, Ellie Goulding).

United Breaks Guitars' Singer, Dave Carroll, Releases New Video Honouring Emergency Responders to 9-1-1 Calls

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Dave Carroll is proud to announce that his new song and music video "Everyday Heroes," which honours all First Responders to 9-1-1 calls (fire, police, EMS & dispatch) is now up on his website 911Song.com & on YouTube. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the mp3 are being donated to the Tema Conter Memorial Trust whose mission is to help all First Responders and military service members suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Says Carroll, "The integrity and commitment that First Responders demonstrate each day is often overlooked. With 'Everyday Heroes,' I'm proud to be able to share this message of gratitude in a way that I think resonates with everyone who takes the time to watch it. Many thanks to Intrado, Curve Productions, Ferguson Music Productions and all the crew, musicians and actors who made this video possible."

With the release of United Breaks Guitars in July 2009 Dave Carroll became an international phenomenon and found himself at the center of a traditional & social media frenzy. What started off as a creative outlet for his frustration as a dismissed customer effectively became a major agent for change around the world. He demonstrated the power of the individual in this age of social media and is a globally recognized advocate, giving others a voice. The United Breaks Guitars Trilogy reached viral status within days of its release and well over 100 million people have heard Dave's story. The impact of United Breaks Guitars has been felt in the music industry, customer service industry & in social media circles globally and made Dave a highly sought after public speaker and performer, even earning him the title of "modern day folk hero."

In a world where broken promises are commonplace, when it counts most, there are people willing to help strangers because they gave their word that they would. The essence of "Everyday Heroes" is about these individuals keeping their promise to respond, regardless of who is in need or the unknown risks that may await the First Responders. As a volunteer fire fighter himself for five years, Dave wrote "Everyday Heroes" after being challenged by a friend to honour those who serve, and the video was shot in Halifax with logistical support from HRM Fire and Emergency and real fire fighters playing themselves.

Where United Breaks Guitars was about "promises broken," "Everyday Heroes" is about "promises kept." The website 911Song.com is dedicated to enhancing and supporting the lives of all First Responders and their families. It is a place where Dave Carroll hopes to facilitate a strong community of interest that connects and engages those who support First Responders and their related organizations and charities.

Ask Mr. Music By Jerry Osborne

FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2010

DEAR JERRY: I don't think I ever heard anything by Paul Revere and the Raiders until they became regulars on Dick Clark's “Where the Action Is” television show. Every time I saw them perform, they featured lead singer Mark Lindsay doing “Louie Louie,” “Steppin' Out,” and others. So it was surprising when I recently read that most of their early records were instrumentals.

Perhaps they were an instrumental band only because they didn't have a singer, until Mark joined?

How many instrumental records did they release before “Louie Louie”? What are the titles?
—Sharon Portnoy, Jamaica, N.Y.

DEAR SHARON: The instantaneous answer is eight singles, though not all of those have instrumentals on both sides, as you shall see.

One of those vocals should be of special interest to you, as it's all about “Sharon.”

All vocals feature Mark Lindsay, who was with the band from their very first record. He also played saxophone.

In order of release, here is the list you seek:

1960: “Beatnik Sticks”/“Orbit (The Spy) (Gardena 106)
1961: “Unfinished Fifth”/“Paul Revere's Ride” (Gardena 115)
1961: “Like, Long Hair”/“Sharon” (Gardena 116)
1961: “Like, Charleston”/“Midnite Ride” (Gardena 118)
1962: “All Night Long”/“Groovey” (Gardena 123)
1962: “Like, Bluegrass”/“Leatherneck” (Gardena 127)
1962: “Tall Cool One”/“Roadrunner” (Gardena 137)
1963: “Blues Stay Away”/“So Fine” (Jerden 807)

Of these 16 pre-Louie tunes, four are vocals: “Paul Revere's Ride”; “Sharon”; “Midnite Ride”; and “So Fine,” leaving a dozen instrumentals.

When Paul Revere (his real name) first approached Gardena Records, appropriately located in Gardena, Calif., the owner, John Guss, suggested they change their name to take advantage of Paul's famous name.

According to Revere: “When he [Guss] found out my name was Paul Revere, he said: “What a perfect gimmick. You gotta use that name!”

“At first, we tried Paul Revere and the Night Riders, but that was rejected as sounding too much like a country group. We settled on Paul Revere and the Raiders, which appeared on our first Gardena single - a boogie-woogie version of “Chopsticks“ that Guss dubbed “Beatnik Sticks.”

Their debut single did quite well in several west coast markets, but not much nationally. In 1961, their third single, “Like Long Hair,” a piano-led rocker inspired by Rachmaninoff's “Prelude in C-Sharp Minor,” made the national Top 40.

Three of the Gardena tracks, “Beatnik Sticks”; ”Like Long Hair“; and “Midnite Ride,” plus all of their Top 100 Columbia hits, are found on

“The Legend of Paul Revere,” a 55-track, double CD package (Columbia C2K-45311).

In early November 1963, dissimilar versions of “Louie Louie” hit the market by Paul Revere and the Raiders and by the Kingsmen.

The Kingsmen's track became the No. 1 party song of all time, relegating the excellent waxing by the Raiders to a spot among 1960s music trivia questions.

DEAR JERRY: In the late 1960s, one of my family's soundtrack albums included a downright absurd track — one I don't think even has any lines that rhyme.

Among other things, this girl is rambling on about meeting a boy from Brooklyn, falling in love, then losing his address. I think she also mentions him looking a lot like George Harrison.
—Tamara Smith, York, Pa.

DEAR TAMARA: Absurd pretty well describes “Frank Mills,” one of the songs from the show ”Hair (The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical).” Frank Mills is both the title as well as the boy being sung about.

Many variations of “Hair” exist — numerous cast performances plus a film soundtrack — nearly all of which include “Frank Mills.”

From one cast to another, it is usually a different actress cast as Crissy and singing “Frank Mills.” Among the best known Crissys are: Shelley Plimpton (1967 Off Broadway Cast and 1968 Original Broadway Cast); Sonja Kristina (1969 Original London Cast); Kristen Vigard (1977 Broadway Revival Cast); Suzette Charles (1979 Original Soundtrack Album); and Allison Case (2009 Broadway Revival Cast).

Though cut from the final edit of the film, “Frank Mills” is included on the Original Soundtrack Album (RCA Victor CBL2-3274).

IZ ZAT SO? Shortly after the 1967-'68 off- and on-Broadway success of ”Hair,“ a Canadian singer named Frank Mills came up with several hits, including ”Love Me, Love Me Love”; “Poor Little Fool”; “Peter Piper;” and the Top 3 instrumental smash, “Music Box Dancer.”

R.E.M. Re-Teams with Jacknife Lee for New Album; New Album Due Spring 2011

R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe, guitarist Peter Buck, and bassist Mike Mills have just finished recording their 15th studio album, which will be released in Spring 2011 by Warner Bros. Records. The band has re-teamed with Grammy Award-winning producer Jacknife Lee, who produced R.E.M.’s acclaimed previous album 'Accelerate'. He is also noted for his work on albums by U2, Snow Patrol, The Hives, and indie stalwarts Kasabian, The Editors, Aqualung, and Bloc Party.

R.E.M. and Lee have been recording in New Orleans at the Music Shed and in Berlin at the famed Hansa Studios, where several legendary albums, including David Bowie’s Heroes, U2’s Achtung Baby, and Iggy Pop’s Lust for Life, were made. Additional recording and mixing was done at the venerable Blackbird Studio in Nashville.

The new album will be the follow-up to 2008’s charging 'Accelerate', which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart, topped the Alternative, Rock, Digital, and Internet (physical goods) charts in the U.S., and debuted at No. 1 in Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. It spawned three hit singles “Supernatural Superserious,” “Hollow Man,” and “Man-Sized Wreath.” The band also released a two-CD live set, entitled R.E.M. Live At The Olympia, last October.

(HED)p.e. reveal cover art and tracklisting for TRUTH RISING

Hed)pe have revealed the cover art and track listing for their upcoming new studio album "Truth Rising", which lands in stores October 26th through Suburban Noize. The album is currently available for pre-order with an exclusive 5-song "Skull & Bonus” CD, which also contains a 30 minute interview with Jahred discussing The Truth Movement, online at this location.

"When I titled the album 'Truth Rising', I immediately had the image of a phoenix rising from like a war torn city for the cover art," commented Jahred. "I think it perfectly symbolizes the message of this album which is the pursuit of true knowledge, not just condemning the government. When people start to learn the truth about self empowerment and the power of love and fear, then we as a civilization can rise above the war, poverty and hate that has been ruling this planet for centuries."

With the release of “Truth Rising” (Hed)pe has their sights firmly set on the New World Order and they are using their brand of hardcore to bring it down. While early (Hed)pe albums found them mixed up in the rock n’ roll lifestyle, the group have been reborn to become the voice for a movement that empowers the youth and uncovers the seedy underbelly of current political affairs. Always pushing the envelope, (Hed)pe stays true to form on their new album and earmark it with their signature brand of raunchy tracks to round out the mix.

The track listing for "Truth Rising" is as follows:

1. Silence is Betrayal
2. Truth Rising
3. It's All Over
4. The Capitalist Conspiracy
5. No Rest For The Wicked

Leonard Skinner Passes Away

Leonard Skinner, the no-nonsense basketball coach and gym teacher at Jacksonville, Florida's Robert E. Lee High School in the 1960s, whose name is forever linked with legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, passed away early Monday morning at 77 years old.

Born Forby Leonard Skinner, the gym teacher infamously enforced the school's draconian dress code on his students, including Lynyrd Skynyrd founder and late vocalist Ronnie Van Zant. Writes local paper The Florida-Times Union, "The story goes this way: The band named itself in a smart-aleck tribute to the basketball coach and gym teacher at Robert E. Lee High School, the tough guy who sent some of the musicians to the assistant principal's office because their hair was too long - it touched their collars in the back."

Upon hearing the news of the passing of his band's namesake, Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington has written on the band's site, "Coach Skinner had such a profound impact on our youth that ultimately led us to naming the band, which you know as Lynyrd Skynyrd, after him. Looking back, I cannot imagine it any other way. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time."

Having sold hundreds of millions of records in the pre MP3 era, it is only natural that Bing Crosby return for the Holidays with a brand new vinyl release, a 7” single of the Bing Crosby/David Bowie duet The Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth backed with a 1953 Bing Crosby/Ella Fitzgerald duet of White Christmas. This limited-edition release will be manufactured on red vinyl as befitting the season. Suggested Retail Price: $7.98

This iconic duet comes from Bing’s final special, taped just five weeks before his death in 1977, Bing Crosby’s Merrie Olde Christmas. This special can be found in the forth-coming, November 9th, Infinity Entertainment Group DVD release, BING CROSBY: THE TELEVISION SPECIALS – Volume Two: The Christmas Specials. Included in this premiere, four-hour plus, two-disc collection are Bing’s first holiday special; his first color special; Bing Crosby and the Sounds of Christmas from 1971 and Bing Crosby’s Merrie Olde Christmas. All four specials are presented in their original uncut and are all making their DVD debut. Bonus Material includes: Happy Holidays with Bing and Frank Show, a 1957 holiday episode of The Frank Sinatra Show filmed in color, and out-takes from the 1962 Bing Crosby Christmas special with Mary Martin. Approximate Running Time: 268 Minutes. Suggested Retail Price: $29.98

The Bing Crosby/David Bowie duet will also be part of the up-coming CD release BING CROSBY: THE CROSBY CHRISTMAS SESSIONS. This 19-track collection from Collectors’ Choice Music is the first new significant Crosby Christmas Collection in decades, featuring ten previously unreleased Yuletide recordings. Song highlights include rare versions of White Christmas; It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas; Jingle Bells, Here Comes Santa Claus (with Peggy Lee); Silent Night, duets with Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald and of course, Crosby/Bowie’s The Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth. Suggested Retail Price: $13.98

Collectors’ Choice Music feels honored to be the distributor of releases direct from the Bing Crosby Archive. Earlier this year, Collector’s Choice reissued three Bing Crosby Classic Albums in Deluxe Editions (Seasons, Return To Paradise Islands and El Senor Bing), a previously unreleased album (On The Sentimental Side), a new compilation (Bing On Broadway), and a 2-CD Set of Crosby Rarities (So Rare: Treasures From The Crosby Archives).

Bing Crosby remains the most recorded performer in history, during his lifetime (1903 – 1977) he made over 2000 commercial recordings including White Christmas, the best selling record of all time. The Guinness Book of World Records reports worldwide sales for Crosby’s recording of the song at over 100 million copies. White Christmas has entered the American pop charts twenty separate times.

To date, Bing Crosby has sold close to one billion records, tapes, compact discs and digital downloads around the world. He may be the biggest selling recording artist of all time. Only The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson can rival his sales figures. He scored 38 number one records – more than The Beatles (24) and Elvis Presley (18). His recordings reached the charts 396 times - more than Frank Sinatra (209) and Elvis Presley (149) combined.

The Baby Grands Celebrate Release Of Sophomore Album

Award winning kindie rockers The Baby Grands return to the children's/family music scene this November with 'The Baby Grands II'

September 18, 2010 - ATLANTA, GA – The children’s/family rock band, The Baby Grands (TBG), are scheduled to release their second album November 16, 2010 on the independent record label Backspace Records distributed via The Orchard.

A 2009 National Parenting Publication Award (NAPPA) winner, one of the most prestigious honors for children’s products, TBG are thrilled to offer the family entertainment community a new album produced and written by both Ben Rowell and Chuck Nash.

Front man singer songwriter Chuck Nash, a Musician Magazine’s Best Unsigned Artist and full time performer, lives in Jacksonville, Florida. Ben Rowell, an Atlanta resident who spent twelve years touring the country as rhythm guitar player and songwriter for the Gainesville, Florida based band Big Sky, met several years ago while on the road. When they reconnected recently, the two found new joy in creating music together. “Ten new songs, one new face,” Ben Rowell smiles as he sums up The Baby Grands II, titled numerically a la Led Zeppelin, and his first family music collaboration with singer Chuck Nash. “Ben and I were on the same page from the word ’go’,” explains Nash. “We have a great symbiotic relationship, and even our studios compliment one another’s.”

Coming off of the top five Sirius/XM Kid’s Place Live hit “Why is it W?” Ben wrote for the debut TBG record, Ben knew he had a lot more in the tank for this second go around, which led to a new adventure in writing The Baby Grands II. The duo teamed up for songwriting sessions via iChat, sent recording files back and forth, traveled on weekends and survived many sleepless nights of recording to complete their new album. And in this slightly unconventional way The Baby Grands II was born.

TBG’s new sound is an accessible combination of melody driven vocals and keyboard lines, thoughtful lyrics and big guitars from the seasoned industry rock ’n’ roll veterans. If Fountains of Wayne, The Barenaked Ladies and Tom Petty had a play date, The Baby Grands would also be invited. Chuck explains, “We didn’t set out to sound like anyone, and then we found ourselves with an opportunity to put variety of musical styles on one record. I think you can hear some Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash, and even AC/DC influences in there as well.” Starting with “Hey!” and ending with “Goodbye,” Ben and Chuck have penned a catchy and diverse mixture of songs sandwiched between the two creating a concept album of sorts.

For two accomplished performers and songwriters most people first ask, “Why children’s music?” That answer is simple to them. Chuck and Ben each have a little one that is the epicenter of their respective worlds, much like music is. Chuck has a little girl and Ben has a little boy. Each is into writing creative, witty songs with their children as inspiration. Ben summarizes the experience by saying, “I’ve never had so much fun making music of any kind.” While enlisting help from some of their friends like Rob Peck (George Jones) on harmonica, Eric Brigmond (Donovan Frankenreiter) on keyboards, Brian Homan (Vassar Clements) on pedal steel and Ken Nasta (Royal Trüx) on drums, Chuck and Ben have created a family album that they truly can be proud of.

For more information about The Baby Grands, to schedule an interview, or receive an advance copy of the album for review, please contact Kimberly Rowell at Backspace Records.

New album from Electric Penguins

The band's second album, aptly named II, is due out at the end of the month. Electric Penguins' sophomore offering II is set for a digital download release on September 24. A CD and vinyl release will follow on October 8, on Talking Tiger Records. Its first single, 'Highgate Hill' is available to download now on iTunes.

Just in time for Halloween: Mad Tea Party releases ROCK N ROLL GHOUL

Asheville’s rock ‘n’ roll duo Mad Tea Party celebrate their favorite holiday again this year with ROCK N ROLL GHOUL, a follow-up to 2009’s ZOMBIE BOOGIE. With garage-rock icon Greg Cartwright (Reigning Sound, Oblivions) at the production helm, this year’s monster offering promises to make you howl at the moon.

Mad Tea Party provides their usual palate of shimmering vocal harmonies over Jason Krekel’s one-man-band juke joint guitar/percussion and Ami Worthen’s electric ukulele. Of course, ROCK N ROLL GHOUL also includes some sonic surprises.

The EP offers up 4 spooky selections for your rockin’ Halloween party. “Possessed,” a 60s-tinged psychedelic number, features Worthen’s wicked vocals and a demonic guitar solo from Mr. Cartwright. The furious screamer “Rock ‘n’ Roll Ghoul” expounds upon the theme of flesh-eating music critics while drivin’ rocker “Dr. Phibes” is an ode to the popular Vincent Price villain. The duo close with the Hollywood Flames’ song “Frankenstein’s Den” with Cartwright on drum kit and Caroline Pond (Snake Oil Medicine Show) joining Worthen on doo-wop vocals.

ROCK N ROLL GHOUL is available as a 7” vinyl record and as digital downloads. The EC horror comics inspired art for the record was hand drawn by San Francisco artist Gus Cutty.

Pre-order special: if you order the vinyl record before October 1, you will also receive a limited edition lino print Dr. Phibes poster by Jason Krekel.

New Susan Boyle Album, The Gift, Arriving Tuesday, November 9

Highly Anticipated Seasonal Collection Premieres "Do You Hear What I Hear" Duet with Amber Stassi, Winner of Susan's Search Online Talent Contest
SYCO/Columbia Records proudly announces the release of The Gift, the eagerly awaited second full-length album from the top-selling international singing sensation Susan Boyle, available everywhere on Tuesday, November 9.

One of the most highly anticipated releases of 2010, Susan Boyle's The Gift premieres ten new performances from the former "Britain's Got Talent" contestant whose debut album, I Dreamed A Dream, sold more than 9 million copies worldwide since its release in November 2009. Like its predecessor, The Gift is produced by Steve Mac.

The first full-length collection since the release of her 9 times platinum record-breaking debut, The Gift offers a seasonal repertoire of inspirational and secular songs united in theme and the breathtaking vocal artistry of Susan Boyle.

Along with her selection of beloved holiday songs -- "Do You Hear What I Hear?," "The First Noel," "O Holy Night," "Away In A Manger," "Make Me A Channel For Your Peace," "Auld Lang Syne," and "O Come All Ye Faithful," Susan puts her stamp on some unforgettable pop classics including Lou Reed's "Perfect Day," Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah," and Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over."

Susan Boyle's The Gift presents the debut of Amber Stassi, winner of the Susan's Search online talent contest, singing a transcendent duet with Susan on "Do You Hear What I Hear?"

Susan explained, "When making this album, I really wanted the songs to touch hearts. Music has always been a companion to me, particularly on special occasions. I wanted there to be a mix of songs that would flow with all our moods this holiday season. As much as the season is a time for reflection, it is also a time for fun and enjoyment with those closest to us."

Simon Cowell added, "Susan broke all the rules, became famous literally overnight and has become one of the world's most popular singers. I’m incredibly proud and pleased for her. I think Susan has gone a step further with this new album. She is a very special lady."

An unexpected pop icon with the voice of an angel, Susan Boyle rocketed to international fame when her performance of "I Dreamed A Dream" (from Les Miserables) on "Britain's Got Talent" became the most watched YouTube video of 2009, with Susan generating more than 500 million YouTube hits.

Susan surprised the world with her powerful, heart stopping voice when she walked onto the Britain's Got Talent stage in April 2009. By the November she had conquered the international music charts with her debut multi platinum album I Dreamed A Dream, selling over 10 million copies worldwide. Her debut album I Dreamed A Dream made Susan the biggest selling artist in the world in 2009, the fastest selling artist in the world for a decade and the fastest selling artist in the history of the UK charts. I Dreamed A Dream shot straight to the number one spot in over 21 countries including the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa.
