Here is the month in review of the top selling ebay vinyl records, on a weekly basis, for December of 2009. First and foremost, a special thank you to Norm and Jane at ccdiscoveries/blogspot.com for compiling this interesting data.
A regular visitor to the ebay top sales list, a 45 single of "God Save The Queen" from the Sex Pistols, which sold for $10,266, tops December's results. Right behind them is another 45, a Northern Soul record, this time from J.D. Bryant (Walk On In" / "I Won't Be Coming Back") which sold for $10,223. Coming in third for the month is a test pressing from Metallica "Kill Em All" which sold for $6,660.
Others pulling in over $6,000 were: "Monster Movie" Music Factory (German Pressing) - $6,295, Vlado Perlemuter "Mozart Sonatas" Vox Box Set - $6,200 and a 45 from Walter Wilson ("Love Keeps Me Crying" / "Not Now But Later") which sold for $6,149. Other than the obligatory Beatles LP, "Introducing The Beatles" VeeJay (ad back )- $4,939, the list is full of 45 rpm records changing hands including the Magnetics with "Count The Days" / "When I'm With My Baby,” which sold for $4,938.
An old Sun blues 45, Jimmy DeBerry "Take A Little Chance" / "Time Has Made A Change" changed hands at $4,477. We also had 45’s by The Factory "Try A Little Sunshine" / "Red Chalk Hill"(UK Pressing) which sold for a shade over $3,650 and another 45 rpm record by the Young Brothers ("Baby" / "What's Your Game"), which sold for $3,416.
