DEF LEPPARD Singer's DOWN 'N' OUTZ Planning To Release Album Of Original Material
This summer, DEF LEPPARD will release a new album and tour with HEART but before then, singer Joe Elliott will be touring the U.K. with his other group, DOWN 'N' OUTZ, a project also featuring members of THE QUIREBOYS. Last July, the guys released their debut album, "My ReGeneration", featuring covers of songs by MOTT THE HOOPLE, Ian Hunter and BRITISH LIONS, the music DOWN N' OUTZ performed as the support act for MOTT THE HOOPLE at one of the legendary band's 2009 reunion shows. Fans who bought the disc might have noticed that this CD is marked "Volume 1." That implies there is more to come and Joe told VH1 Radio Networks' Dave Basner what to expect from the band in the future.

Autopsy To Release Vinyl Edition Of New Album "Macabre Eternal"
San Francisco Bay Area death metal act Autopsy has completed recording its long-awaited fifth studio album, "Macabre Eternal," which is due out May 31st on Peaceville Records. The band has announced that it will release a special vinyl edition of the forthcoming musical massacre before the CD and digital versions hit stores, available exclusively through the Peaceville web-store on May 16th.

While Metallica may have had the skull-obsessed art of Pushead, Megadeth had the thrash metal mastermind Ed Repka. Ed has been a stalwart of the scene since it's inception and despite the years of intricate and colourful masterworks behind him he is still going strong. His pieces regularly focus on a leering character in the foreground and espouse themes of nuclear horrors, skeletal figures and oppressive political and business power. Out of all the metal artists he is possibly the most prolific, especially in the thrash metal arena; From Hirax to Nuclear Assault, Possessed to Toxik, and plenty of recent bands such Hexen and Austrian Death Machine - all draw the common thread of Ed Repka’s comical madness. In 1955, Elvis Presley auditioned for TV's Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts, where he plays "Good Rockin' Tonight". His performance was weak and the show's producers turned him down.
In 1959, The Skyliners, a five member group from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, entered the Billboard Pop chart for the first time with the now classic doo-wop hit, "Since I Don't Have You". The song will be their biggest success, reaching #12. Joe Rock would later say that he was upset about a girl who had just left him and wrote most of the lyrics while sitting in his car between stoplights.

In 2008, Neil Aspinall, who oversaw The Beatles’ Apple Corps business empire from 1968-2007, died from lung cancer at age 66 at a hospital in New York. A Liverpool school friend of Paul McCartney and George Harrison, he was regarded by many as “the fifth Beatle,” becoming the group’s road manager in 1961 before becoming their personal assistant. In the ’80s Aspinall became the head of The Beatles’ Apple company. Aspinall had also played background instruments on certain Beatles tracks, including “Magical Mystery Tour,” “Within You, Without You” and “Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite.”
