ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK - EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS

From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure Exodus: Gods and Kings, the story of one man's daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 400,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.

The epic film was scored by Spanish composer Alberto Iglesias. He has written the music for several Spanish films, mostly from Pedro Almodóvar and Julio Medem. He has been nominated for an Academy Award for his work in the films The Constant Gardener (2005), The Kite Runner (2007) and again for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011). His other film credits include soundtracks for Steven Soderbergh's Che  and Hossein Amini's The Two Faces of January (2014).

TOWER OF POWER - BACK TO OAKLAND

Back To Oakland is the fourth album by Bay Area based band Tower of Power, released in spring 1974. Tower of Power followed their self-titled gold album with (as said by many critics) an even better album.

This record had tougher, funkier and better-produced cuts, stronger vocals from Lenny Williams (who was more comfortable as their lead singer), and included an excellent ballad in "Time Will Tell," and a rousing tempo in "Don't Change Horses (In the Middle of a Stream)". The Tower of Power horn section reaffirmed its reputation in both Soul and Pop circles.

Back To Oakland was voted by Modern Drummer Magazine as one of the most important recordings for drummers to listen to.  180 gram audiophile vinyl

TONY JOE WHITE - CONTINUED

Continued is the second album released by swamp rocker Tony Joe White. Recorded at Monument Studios, Nashville and Lyn-Lou Studios, Memphis in 1969 and released the same year, the album contained the single "Roosevelt And Ira Lee". It was produced by Billy Swan and engineered by Tommy Strong and Mort Thomasson.

The album contains the track "Rainy Night In Georgia" popularized by R&B vocalist Brook Benton in 1970. It reached #4 on the Pop Singles and #2 on the Adult Contemporary charts, respectively. The RIAA certified the single Gold for sales of one million copies. In 2004, it was ranked #498 on the List of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. David Ruffin recorded a cover version of the song the same year as Benton, however, Motown for unknown reasons did not release the album.

The song has been covered by a number of musicians, including Ray Charles, Otis Rush, Randy Crawford, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Amos Garrett, Hank Williams, Jr., Shelby Lynne, John Holt, Nicky Thomas, by the duet of Conway Twitty and Sam Moore, Aaron Neville, and reggae band The Gladiators.  180 gram audiophile vinyl

III & IV by Heat Leisure Available Via ThrillJockey

Heat Leisure is a collective centered around the Carney brothers of Pontiak, Greg Fox and Alexandra Drewchin of Guardian Alien, Steve Strohmeier of Beach House, and Robert J. Otten III. Their music takes a freewheeling approach to psychedelia with obvious nods toAmon Düül II, Can and the Grateful Dead.

For this, their second gathering and recording at the Carney’s farm in Virginia, the group recruited the legendary Merry Prankster and Dead associate Ken Babbs, who emceed the Dead’s mythical Veneta, OR gig in 1972 that became Sunshine Daydream, to contribute a shamanistic monologue to “III,” which occupies the first side of this, their first full-length vinyl release. The Carneys approached Babbs about collaborating with Heat Leisure after staying at his Oregon farm on the last Pontiak tour. Heat Leisure’s core principles are spontaneity, serendipity, and collaboration. The band employs frying amp distortion, a signature of Pontiak, as well as an array of drums, synthesizers, samplers, organs and a heavy dose of explorative improvisation by the musicians to create a highly lyrical album.

III & IV is released on LP-only, pressed on virgin vinyl and presented in a jacket with spot UV gloss printing on cover and free download card.
