AEG is in the process of auctioning off the film of Michael Jackson's last rehearsal for the "This Is It" run. Word is that Sony, Universal and Fox are in the bidding and it is current around $50 million.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame News
It's being reported that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is planning its 25th anniversary for the fall of 2009 at Madison Square Garden. They have have booked Oct. 29 and 30 for a two-day extravaganza at the Garden.
Tentatively scheduled for the Thursday show are Bruce Springsteen, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon as a solo act, Stevie Wonder, and the whole posse that includes Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young and friends. Then on Friday: Aretha Franklin headlines, with U2, Metallica, and Eric Clapton. More details are expected to be announced very soon.....

After Midnight Project have revealed the cover art for their debut album, ‘Let’s Build Something to Break‘, due out August 11th.

WHYZDOM announced that the official release date of our debut album "From The Brink Of Infinity." It will be available worldwide the 21st of September
It's described as Melodic metal with massive orchestra and choir ensembles blended in.

Keith Richard Godchaux - keyboard player for the Grateful Dead (July 19, 1948 – July 23, 1980) Died after being involved in a car crash.
Allen Collins Jr.(July 19, 1952 – January 23, 1990) was one of the founding members and guitarists of Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd.
In 2001, soul/gospel singer Judy Clay died. Was a member of the Drinkard Singers - who later became better known as The Sweet Inspirations , also worked with Billy Vera, and had hits with William Bell and sang with Wilson Pickett and Ray Charles.
History:
Harry Belafonte began recording his first sessions for Capitol Records in 1949. They included the songs "They Didn’t Believe Me" and "Close Your Eyes."
Elvis Presley's first record, "That's All Right (Mama)" backed with "Blue Moon of Kentucky," was released in 1954 on the Sun label. Elvis had recorded the tunes two weeks earlier with guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black at the Sun studio in Memphis. When the record was first aired on a Memphis radio station, Elvis was reported to have hid in a movie theatre because he thought people would laugh at his effort.
In 1958, the manager of The Drifters, George Treadwell, sacked the entire group and hired the unknown Ben E King and The Five Crowns as their replacements.
The Monkees recorded their TV theme song in 1966. The world would never be the same…
The Rolling Stones released one of their biggest hits “Honky Tonk Women” in 1969. The song was nearly banned due to lyrical content but a quick thinking promo guy claims Jagger sang “played a divorcee” not “laid a divorcee.”
The Spencer Davis Group broke up in 1969.
Paul McCartney and Wings went to #1 on the US singles chart in 1975 with “Listen To What The Man Said,” his fourth US #1 (#6 hit in the UK). Wings also had the US #1 album chart with “Venus And Mars,” Paul McCartney's fourth #1 album since The Beatles.
“Rust Never Sleeps,” by Neil Young, was released in 1979. It peaks at #8 and is certified platinum (one million sales) a year later.
Billy Joel's "It's Still Rock & Roll To Me" hits #1 in 1980.
In 1980, David Bowie made his stage debut in the title role of a Denver production of "The Elephant Man."
Queen's “The Game” LP entered the charts in 1980. It featured the #1 hits, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Another One Bites The Dust."
The Rolling Stones "Emotional Rescue" LP entered the album chart in 1980. It eventually hits #1 for 7 weeks.
Genesis went to #1 on the US singles chart in 1986 with “Invisible Touch.” The band’s former lead singer Peter Gabriel was at #2 with “Sledgehammer.”
Former Guns n' Roses drummer Steven Adler filed a lawsuit against the band in 1991. He claimed the other members had forced him to use heroin, then made him quit the band while he tried to kick his drug habit.
In 1995, Elvis Presley's former doctor Dr. George Nichopoulous, lost his medical license for being "too liberal" in prescribing addictive drugs. It only took eighteen years……
