Grand Funk have continued to be one of the biggest selling artists of all time. Their historic concerts are legendary, their albums are all important achievements of the classic rock era, and their continuing fan base is second to none.

We're An American Band changed history once again for this multi-platinum act as it rose to the top of the charts and brought them more deserved fame. As the anthem-like title track and album took off, even more chart action unfolded with hits like Walk Like A Man (You Can Call Me Your Man). This groundbreaking album also included some very hard hitting rockers like Black Licorice, The Railroad and more fan favorites like Stop Looking Back.

Led by the dynamic lead guitar and vocals of the legendary Mark Farner, the incredible power drummer/vocalist Don Brewer, the thumping bass of Mel Schacher and the arrival of their new member Craig Frost on keyboards, this new energized sound of Grand Funk Railroad, now produced by Todd Rundgren (Meat Loaf, Badfinger) were recordings made for the history books, as this amazing album has surely stood the test of time.

And for a very limited run this Grand Funk Railroad album will be pressed on GOLD VINYL, as originally presented in 1973!

Axl Rose Squashes Rumor About Reuniting Guns N' Roses Via Twitter

Much has been written, apparently, much ado about nothing regarding the rumors of a Guns N" Roses reunion. Slash recently said he would consider reuniting with Guns N' Roses if temperamental singer Axl Rose apologized to him. Here it is from Axl via his Twitter account.

Contrary to anyone's claims there are no concrete plans nor were there ever for a tour, a relaunch or sponsors (n' certainly not to replace anyone in the band) beyond a collection of random ideas thrown out by various individuals w/out any real foundation or negotiations in place other than our prior involvements (which wouldn't take a rocket scientist to put together). And 4 the record Doc McGhee is no longer involved w/either myself or GN'R.

Look like the reunion is kapoot!

interesting read from the UK:

British music can still star as rock finds a new role

Ian Birrell

Let's get the party started. Tonight it is the Brits, that annual orgy of champagne and back-slapping that has become the biggest night in the British music business calendar. While stars such as Rihanna and Arcade Fire play onstage and millions watch on television, for one night only executives can try to forget the pain of an industry that is in seemingly terminal decline.

Great review of some new music out today!

Turn Around, Bright Eyes

Gregory Yee

Today’s the day. The curtains are closing against a fading light. The end of that weird and wonderful journey that began in 1995. Today Bright Eyes releases their final album, “The People’s Key.”

The album begins with “Firewall.” To be expected, the track begins with a rambling, sermon-tinged intro similar to 2005’s “I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning” and 2007’s “Cassadega.” For more than two minutes, Randy Brewer, a Texan musician whom Conor Oberst met on the road, rambles on about universes and reptilian people.
