Vinyl Art - by Daniel Edlen
my vinyl record friend Daniel Edlen is still painting masterpieces with old, unusable vinyl, see the amazing show and stop by his site (by the way, these wonderful pieces of art make the perfect gift!)
a recent email from Daniel:
I got to paint 4 pieces for a very cool corporate client. I'm hoping they'll share it publicly so I can tell you who, but in the meantime below is the high quality final shot of all 4 especially for you. Only the CEO of the client company has seen it too.

MURDER CONSTRUCT - Results LP
MURDER CONSTRUCT discharge their ear shattering debut full-length, Results, with the force of an early morning napalm strike. Boasting an all-star line up of notorious death metal and grindcore veterans including Travis Ryan (CATTLE DECAPITATION), Danny Walker (EXHUMED, INTRONAUT) and Leon Del Muerte (EXHUMED, IMPALED), MURDER CONSTRUCT pummel and pound their way through eleven tracks of bloodthirsty rage. The quintet set forth a lethal dose of death/grind, combining razor sharp guitars, machine gun blasts and homicidal growls with their own twisted brand of experimentation. Results is a violent, uncompromising display of top-notch musicianship and cutthroat songwriting that is sure to leave the listener outlined in chalk.

of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?
of Montreal has been on a tear as of late: releasing two acclaimed albums (2004's Satanic Panic In The Attic and 2005's The Sunlandic Twins), all the while spreading its dance party-inducing live shows to the masses.
Now, with Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?, of Montreal has created its masterpiece. It is an irresistible and remarkable album, sounding like a logical extension of the erratic indie-disco sounds of The Sunlandic Twins.
However, Hissing Fauna is also the most personal of Montreal album to date, with Kevin Barnes, lead of Montreal songwriter, pouring tremendous amounts of emotion, heartbreak, frustration and elation into its twelve tracks.
Written and recorded primarily during what he calls "an insane year," Hissing Fauna sees Barnes adopt a new writing style. It's an unabashedly autobiographical attempt from a songwriter whose early material tended towards characters and story-songs.
Barnes continues down the whimsical pop funk path, while changing up its lyrical scope; and Hissing Fauna balances its poppy nature while showcasing brutal and unflinching honesty.

Band Of Horses – Infinite Arms 180 Gram Vinyl Reissue
Columbia has reissued the Band of Horses album, “Infinite Arms” on 180 Gram vinyl which is due out on July 3rd. This album has been out of print for some time now!
"Band of Horses have left Sub Pop and arrived at Ben Bridwell's Brown (and Fat Possum/Columbia) for their new album Infinite Arms. Visually, though, they haven't strayed too far from Cease to Begin's nightscape. There's less water and more mountainous swirls, but like the previous cover image, the sky was captured by photographer Christopher Wilson. The band produced Infinite with help from Phil Ek. It was recorded over sixteen months in various locations featuring a beefed-up lineup that includes the core of Ben Bridwell, Creighton Barrett, and Ryan Monroe with longtime touring members Tyler Ramsey and Bill Reynolds providing additional hands. As a nod to the new lineup, Bridwell is quoted as saying 'in many ways, this is the first Band of Horses record.' But we know it's actually their third." - Stereogum
180 Gram LP comes with a digital download card!

KISS To Release New Album In October
KISS are set to release their 20th studio album, 'Monster,' in October. There are 12 tracks in all, which are collaborations between co-founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, with guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer. The effort was produced by Paul Stanley with Greg Collins at Conway Studios in Hollywood and The Nook in Studio City, California.
On July 2, “Hell or Hallelujah” will be available as a digital single and gets a physical release the next day.
Stanley says it is “a battle cry that encapsulates the entire record... one way or another, we’re going to do it our way.” “There are no symphony orchestras, boy choirs, keyboards, outside producers or songwriters on this album,” promises Gene Simmons. “The best thing we did was to turn inwards to ourselves. Tommy [Thayer] and Eric [Singer] have revitalized this band, with a work ethic and the talent to back it up. This is a real band effort. KISS has become a behemoth. We’re going where no bands have gone before.”
