Here is the month in review of the top selling ebay vinyl record sales, on a weekly basis, for February of 2010. First and foremost, a special thank you to Norm and Jane at http://ccdiscoveries/blogspot.com and Vinyl Record Talk for putting together this interesting data.
February's top seller is a rare UK Classical LP by Leonid Kogan ("Beethoven Violin Concerto" Columbia SAX 2386 UK Pressing), which came in at just over $6,300. An LP by John Heartsman And Circles ("Music Of My Heart" Private) and a 45 rpm single by the Magnetics ("Lady In Green" / "Heart You're Made Of Stone" Bonnie) both came in at $5,500.
Familiar entrant The Beatles ("Please Please Me" Parlophone UK Gold Black label 1st Stereo) sold for $5,475 and $3,900 respectively. A Pink Floyd LP ("Ummagumma" Japan Red Vinyl) sold for $4,200.00, followed by a 45 rpm single from The Beatles ("I Want To Hold Your Hand" / "I Saw Her Standing There" w/pic sleeve radio promo), which sold for a bit over $4,100. The Beatles also had two other entrants, "Let It Be" UK Box Set PXS 1, with one selling for around $3,200 and the other selling for $2,716.
Interesting entrants include a 45 rpm record from Soul Drifter ("Funky Brother pt 1" / "Funky Brother pt 2" Smoke), selling for $3,450.00, a 45 rpm single by George Lemons ("Fascinating Girl" / "Fascinating Girl" Gold Soul) selling for $3,388 and a rather new release with a Pearl Jam LP ("Backspacer" White Vinyl) which sold for $3,275.00.
