also did some checking, there are 1,576,682 results found for the search term LP on eBay today, and this is a great indication of the past several days....lots of records for sale on the big vinyl machine, no wonder prices have come down.  If I am still up to speed, eBay charges listing fees, whether the records sell or not.  So why would anybody list some of the most common LPs if there are already hundreds of them already up for sale?  What makes their copy any better than the other 600?  ebay is doing just fine, thank you......

some other interesting notes from searches on eBay on the August 14th, 2012:

10,965 results found for Beatles LP
749 results found for Aerosmith LP
1,765 results found for Rush LP
1,553 results found for Billy Joel LP
649 results found for Three Dog Night LP
1,178 results found for Monkees LP
1,873 results found for ABBA LP
3,456 results found for Chicago LP
1,560 results found for neil young LP
1,046 results found for metallica LP

and i'm not sure who's buying these records (my guess is not many), but ebay makes a killing on listing fees!

1,750 results found for kenny rogers LP
1,103 results found for dean martin LP
503 results found for burl ives LP
4,008 results found for frank sinatra LP
1,828 results found for bing crosby LP
1,781 results found for benny goodman LP
1,660 results found for glenn miller LP

FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 13, 2012

Two weeks ago, Fred Bozeman, of Los Angeles, requested a list of the world's most valuable soundtracks and original cast records.

Since then, we have listed 42 records ranging from $1,000 to $2,000.

In this final group, we have 13 entries, with values from $2,500 to $10,000.

The format is as follows:
TITLE - Type of recording (Year issued) - Label name and number (Country where manufactured)
Description or additional notes, if any
Artist(s) on the disc. Does not include film and show cast members — even famous stars pictured on the cover — unless they are heard on the record in some fashion (singer, instrumentalist, narrator, etc.)

Entries in the same price range are alphabetically by title.
