new releases from our friends at musiconvinyl

FAITH NO MORE - KING FOR A DAY

After Faith No More founding guitarist Jim Martin split the band in 1994, Trey Spruance of Mr. Bungle took over six string duties for King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime. Upon its release, the album quickly reasserted that Faith No More were still on top of their game.

Keeping their harder edge on songs like "Get Out", "Ricochet" and "Cuckoo For Caca", the album is balanced with romantic love songs ("Evidence"), breezy Pop ("Caralho Voador") and the more experimental tinged title track.

The original release was sparsely pressed on vinyl which makes King For A Day a true collector's item, especially a first limited pressing on red marbled vinyl.

  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • Insert
  • First 3000 numbered copies on red marbled vinyl

BOOKER T AND THE MG'S  - AND NOW

Released in 1966, And Now!...Booker T. & The MG's contains a selection of 12 instrumental songs recorded to perfection by the best backing band in Soul that has ever existed.

Band leader Booker T. Jones wails on the Hammond B3 organ as only he can: delivering bluesy chords and raw harmonics while staccato, piercing riffs rip through the Leslie 120 revolving speaker. Accompanied by 'the Metronome' of drummer Al Jackson Jr., bass lines of Donald 'Duck' Dunn and Steve Cropper's effective guitar licks, this package is complete.

And Now! is a true R&B staple – you know you need it!

PRONG - PROVE YOU WRONG

The original vinyl issue of Prove You Wrong was limitedly available because of diminishing demands for albums on wax.

Prove You Wrong was released in 1991, and turned heads worldwide with its more melodic approach to Prong's formula of hardhitting industrial Hardcore Thrash Metal.

The album yielded two singles: "Unconditional" and "Pointless". Surprising song on Prove You Wrong is the Stranglers' cover Get A Grip (On Yourself) which is sung by new bassist Troy Gregory. The original vinyl issue was limitedly available because of diminishing demands for albums on wax. Music On Vinyl is now reissuing this awesome album and celebrates this with a limited first pressing of 500 numbered copies on purple marbled vinyl!

  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • Insert
  • First 500 numbered copies on purple marbled vinyl

JAMES TAYLOR - DAD LOVES HIS WORK

Released in 1981, Dad Loves His Work is singer-songwriter James Taylor's 10th album. The record is essentially the reason Taylor divorced his then-wife Carly Simon ; she gave him an ultimatum to cut back on his music and relentless touring and spend more time with her and the family. When he named the album, his choice became pretty obvious.

Noteworthy tracks on Dad Loves His Work are "Her Town Too" (the single reached #11 on the Billboard Pop singles chart), "I Will Follow", "London Town" and the haunting album closer "That Lonesome Road."   180 gram audiophile vinyl and  Insert
