Austin City Limits Announces Guests For 35th Season

Austin City Limits is celebrating its 35th year on the air (check your local PBS listings) and has put together an impressive and eclectic lineup for music fans. I am very fond of the show, a few weeks ago, I watched Arcade Fire put on an hour worth of pure rock and roll splendor, I had heard of the band, but never heard their music. After watching the show, I am now one of their biggest fans. There is nothing like live music....

The new season is set to debut on October 3 with the Dave Matthews Band and will include appearances by the Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson and Asleep at the Wheel and many more. Interestingly, Willie Nelson was the artist on the original 1974 pilot episode and Asleep at the Wheel was the guest on the premier episode of the series.

"We had high hopes for our 35th anniversary, but never expected to pull together a season like this" said ACL producer Terry Lickona. "We've scored major coups with some of the biggest names in rock and some of the best touring bands in the world. And we're excited to continue to showcase the best new and emerging sounds wherever they come from, including some of the hottest bands making waves in Austin and beyond. After three and a half decades it seems like everybody still wants to stand on that stage and be a part of ACL history."

The following is the inital list of Season 35 performers with additional names to be added at a future dates. Air dates have not been determined:
