Bon Iver Covers Peter Gabriel for Record Store Day Single

Bon Iver is teaming up with Peter Gabriel to release a split 7" single on Record Store Day, which is happening April 17 this year. The single, which will only be available at independent record stores, will feature Gabriel's cover of Bon Iver's "Flume", a track that appeared on Gabriel's covers album Scratch My Back, on one side. On the other, Bon Iver will return the favor by covering "Come Talk to Me", a seven-minute song from Gabriel's 1992 Us album.

Bird and the Bee cover Hall & Oates' 'Sara Smile'

When multi-instrumentalist and producer Greg Kurstin (he’s worked with everyone from Britney and Kylie to Lily Allen and Little Boots) and singer-songwriter Inara George, a.k.a. indie-pop duo The Bird and the Bee, take on a covers album, they aim high. Like, Hall & Oates high.

The third full-length from the duo will be the faux-loftily titled Interpreting the Masters, Vol. 1: A Tribute to Daryl Hall & John Oates, featuring their take on H&O classics like “Maneater,” “Rich Girl,” “Private Eyes” and the exclusive-to-EW ballad “Sarah Smile.” (March 23 release date)

Broken Social Scene Reveal Forgiveness Rock Record Track List, Limited-Edition Album

Broken Social Scene obsessives: If you've ever wished one of the band's records would be released as several vinyl discs, today is your lucky day.

The Toronto musical collective's Forgiveness Rock Record will be available as a limited-edition, numbered box set containing seven 180-gram 10-inch vinyl records that will also come with a digital download of the record. Only 1,000 copies of the box set will be made, and it's going for $125.

Forgiveness Rock Record will also be available as a standard CD, vinyl and digital release for those of you who are less hardcore.

The Melvins Return With "The Bride Screamed Murder" On June 1

The Melvins are set to release "The Bride Screamed Murder" on June 1 via Ipecac Recordings with a US tour launching the same day in San Diego and including a stop at the Bonnaroo Festival. "The Bride Screamed Murder" is the third release featuring Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover and Big Businesses' Coady Willis and Jared Warren. While the Melvins recently celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary, the latest incarnation debuted with the highly-praised "(A) Senile Animal" (2006) and continued with "Nude With Boots" (2008).

OVERMASTER's 'Madness Of War' Due In April

The debut CD from OVERMASTER, entitled "Madness of War", will be released on April 23 via Cruz Del Sur Music.

OVERMASTER features the wailing power of Gustavo "Gus" GabarrĂ³ (formerly of WHITE SKULL) on vocals, along with several other professional and skilled Italian musicians hailing from SKYLARK, HIGHLORD, EDGE OF FOREVER and other talented Italian acts.

"Madness of War" was recorded, mixed and mastered at Fear Studio during the crossover into 2010, with the usual high standard sound quality of Fear's previous productions.
