Massive Vinyl Record Collection Up On eBay

Up on ebay right now are "69,592+ Dance Music Vinyl Records," along with "House / Trance / Techno / Drum & Bass" records with an opening bid of $10,000 (so far no takers)  The records are located near San Francisco, CA  (looks like a storage locker, they don't say if it was climate controlled).  The buyer will be responsible for paying to ship the records to their location. (which would be sizeable to anywhere in the US, probably ruling out an east coast buyer) The collection is estimated to weigh around 35,000 to 40,000 LBS.

new releases from our friends at MusicOnVinyl

Dream Theater - Images And Words

Dream Theater's first album with new vocalist James LaBrie is an excellent mix of various progressive metal styles. Berklee music school alumni John Petrucci on the six strings, bassist John Myung and drummer Mike Portnoy show impressive ability on their instruments. Standout tracks include the complex "Metropolis, Pt. 1", "Pull Me Under" (also released as a single and video, an MTV favourite in 1992), "Take the Time" and the 11-minute "Learning to Live." Images And Words proves that Dream Theater's musicianship and songwriting are above the norm, and they proved to hold up this high standard for years to come.

Blind Faith - Blind Faith -Deluxe

Blind Faith were arguably one of the biggest and short lived super-groups of the late sixties, featuring former Cream members Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker and Traffic / Spencer Davis Group's organist Steve Winwood.  The anticipation for their collaboration after the demise of their previous bands was massive – their first and only album Blind Faith was hugely successful. It peaked at number #1 on the Billboard Top 200 in 1969. With sold out shows in Europe and the US, the band made an impression few newborn groups have ever achieved.

The Music On Vinyl reissue boasts the original LP with its original artwork (that raised more than a few eyebrows across the globe...and not shown here) with the addition of a second LP. The bonus disc includes 5 bonus tracks that have never seen the light of day on vinyl previously!
  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • 5 bonus tracks
  • 8 page booklet with extensive liner notes

Faith No More - Angel Dust

In an era when numerous Funk Metal acts ruled the airwaves, one of the genre's forefathers Faith No More proved to be the undisputed masters of inventive songwriting with their album Angel Dust (1992).

After gaining mainstream success with their previous album The Real Thing (off the back of global hit "Epic") in 1989, the band continued three years later with Angel Dust, a mind-bending masterpiece of musicianship.

To celebrate the Music on Vinyl 180-gram reissue, we've pressed the first 2000 copies on transparent blue vinyl and included their impressive and popular Lionel Richie cover "Easy" as a hidden bonus
track!
  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • Includes the hidden track : "Easy"
  • First 2000 copies on limited / numbered transparent blue vinyl

Wishbone Ash - Live Dates

A band like Wishbone Ash need to be experienced live.  On Live Dates (1973), the band exercise their repertoire with engaging quality – their exquisite performances drag you into the colourful world of these progressive Brit rockers. You just wish you were there to witness their greatness in person. Listening to the audiophile vinyl version of this classic live album is the next best thing.
  • 180 gram audiophile vinyl
  • Gatefold sleeve

Tragically Hip - Road Apples

Recorded in New Orleans, Road Apples (1991) was the breakthrough release from Canada's best Tragically Hip.  Songs like "Little Bones", "Twist My Arm" and "Long Time Running" are some of the best songs the band of childhood friends have ever written.  Singer Gord Downie's voice pulls you right into the heart of the Hip – an energetic, emotional and poetic journey.  Available on vinyl for the first time since its original release.  180 gram audiophile vinyl

Formats: CD/LP/DIGITAL

On True Widow’s highly anticipated third album ‘Circumambulation’, the Dallas heavy ‘stonegaze’ trio hone in on their trademark syrupy simplicity with absolute perfection.  Equal parts drone, post-rock and shoegaze, ‘Circumambaulation’ is the band’s most, controlled, concise and realized effort yet.  Simultaneously True Widow’s darkest and poppiest record, ‘Circumambaulation’ is a moody triumph of a record perfect for both super late nights, and early Sunday mornings.  Rarely does a band capture the vibe of dreary haze together with sticky male/female harmonies so infectiously.  True Widow’s
‘Circumambulation’ is an easy top contender for record of the summer, if not all of 2013.
